Our Services

Adult Day Programs
Our three centers located in the Hillcrest area of San Diego, Encinitas, and the South Bay offer specialized, adult day programs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with full-day and half-day rates. Each center provides therapeutic activities and socialization in a safe, structured, family-like environment. A full-time activity coordinator at each center develops a daily schedule to be sure that each of our participants is involved in activities that keep them healthy and engaged.

The highly-trained staff at each of our centers includes a full-time R.N. and social worker, activity coordinator, and all staff members are specially trained in dementia care. Our centers proudly boast the highest direct-staff to participant ratio in San Diego and provide loving, individualized, compassionate care.

Our daily programs feature:
• Individualized programs emphasizing the retention of cognitive skills
• Structured socialization
• Nutritious hot meals and snacks
• Secure facilities
• Rehabilitation and maintenance through speech, occupational, and physical therapies
• Social and recreational cognitive-focused activities including music, art, exercise, and pet therapy
• Continence care
• Intergenerational programs
• Bilingual staff and multi-cultural outreach
• VA provider with loving support for our veterans

We find that most participants quickly adjust to their new setting, begin to forge new friendships and share feelings, and in general enjoy their environment. Our programs provide interesting daily programs which are more varied than what is available at home. The family can usually see an improvement in spirits, an involvement in life, and a better overall attitude.

If you have further questions about our adult day programs, please call (619) 543-4700 or (800) 736-6674, or email us at information@glenner.org and we would be happy to discuss your specific needs. We accept Medi-Cal, VA, private pay, and long-term care insurance.

Caregiver Support
For thirty years a primary mission of our centers has been to provide support for the caregiver. Each of our centers offers weekly or bi-weekly professionally-facilitated support groups. These meetings are free and open to all caregivers and family members of individuals with dementia. Some provide respite care at no charge during the meeting based upon availability. For more information about attending a support group near you, please call (619) 543-4700 or (800) 736-6674.

Our resources for caregivers include a monthly electronic newsletter to keep you up to date with memory care strategies, tools to support you in assisting your loved one, and upcoming research. Our blog posts twice weekly and provides not only information, but moments of humor. We frequently are present at local health fairs and you are welcome to ask us questions regarding your own situation. Many of our resources are available in Spanish.
