Chief Executive Officer Anette Asher
Anette Asher became CEO in April 2012. She previously joined the Life Science Information Technology (LSIT) Global Institute in Sept. 2005 as CEO. In Dec. 2010 LSIT merged with HIMSS, where she was acting director through the completion of the merger. Anette is Chairman Emeritus of the Board for Sharp Healthcare Foundation, and a previous member of the Board of Directors for Sharp Healthcare Systems (a $2.3B hospital system). In June 2011 she was recognized as one of 20 “Women Who Rock San Diego” by San Diego Metro Magazine.
Director of Programs and Services Dawn DeStefani, B.S.W.
Dawn DeStefani has worked in the health and human services field for more than seventeen years, with youth, adults, and the elderly. She graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor of arts in social work. She has since worked in adult day health care focusing her expertise on serving Alzheimer’s patients and their families. Dawn is an active educator on various topics relating to aging and Alzheimer’s Disease. Dawn’s multilingual abilities make it possible for her to assist families from various cultures; she is fluent in Spanish and English, and speaks conversational French and Korean. She is a native San Diegan who lives with her husband, Joseph, and their children, Andre, Lilly and Jacob.
Director of Nursing Marge Galante, R.N., B.S.N.
Margaret Galante R.N., B.S.N. has been the program director for Hillcrest Center and our Director of Nursing for eighteen years. She and her husband, Joe, a retired executive of IBM World Trade, reside in Solana Beach. Marge’s past experience includes the Veteran’s Administration and community hospital and nursing education. Prior to moving to San Diego she was employed for sixteen years at a skilled nursing facility in Connecticut. She is a graduate of the College of Mount St. Vincent in Riverdale, N.Y. and received her clinical education at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York City. Native New Yorkers, Marge and Joe have three adult children and four grandchildren.
